Rohtang Pass: The pass is situated at an elevation of 3978 Meters above sea level and is a part of Pir Panjal Ranges of Himalayas.
Kunzum Pass: It is one of the India’s highest motorable mountain passes situated at an elevation of 4551 Meters above the sea level.
KAZA: It is the sub- divisional headquaters of Spiti situates in the elevation of 3810 Meters above the sea level. It is the largest township in Spiti with high mountains, barren landscapes, cryster clear rivers and meadows.
|3||KAZA TO KOMIK AND LANGZA VILLAGE (DAY TRIP) :( 20 KM, 1 HOUR)|| Total sightseeing duration - 6 Hours
Today covering exciting and interesting places around Kaza. Step in the Komik and Langza village.
Komic(Approximate Duration: 2 Hours): The village is situated at the height of 4275 Meters is one of the highest villages in Asia and means the eye of snow cock. Komic has got one of the biggest and the oldest monastries.
Langza(Approximate Duration: 2 Hours): The village is situated at an altitude of 4400 Meters is divided into 2 sections, namely Langza Yongma (lower) and Langza Gongma (upper). The main attraction of the village is a golden color huge statue of Lord Buddha surrounded by the handful mud households.
Key Monastery(Approximate Duration: 2 Hours): It is the biggest centre of Buddhist learning situated at an elevation of 4166 Meters above the sea level. The monastery has the collection of ancient Murals and books. It is famous for its architecture called Pasada Style and belongs to the Gelupa Sect.
At last it is time to return to Kaza.
|4||KAZA TO TABO: (50 Kms, 1-2 Hrs)|| Total sightseeing duration - 9 Hours
Enjoy the magnificent vistas all day and head on for Tabo while enroute covering Pin Valley, Kungri Monastery and Dhankar Monastery. Upon arriving at Tabo rest for a while and then visit Tabo Monastery.
Pin Valley National Park(Approximate Duration: 5 Hours) :It is the only cold desert National Park located in Himachal Pradesh. It was declared as the National Park in January 1987 and covers an area of 675 Sq. Km and has a buffer zone of 1175 Sq. Km.
Flora: Birch, Juniper, Myricaris Scrubs and Betula utilis etc.
Fauna: Siberian Ibex, Weasels, Red Fox, Tibetan Gazzel, Himalayan Marmot, Blue Sheep etc.
Kungri Monastery(Approximate Duration: 1 Hour): It is the Spiti’s second oldest monastery located in the Pin Valley was built around 14th century. It has the distinction of being the only monastery from Nyingmapa order of Buddhism which is the oldest order of Tibetan Buddhism.
Tabo Monastery(Approximate Duration: 3 Hours): It is situated at an altitude of 3050 meters. It founded by the great scholar Richer Zangpo in the year 960 A.D. It is one of the most important Buddhist monasteries that are regarded by many as only next to the Tholing Gompa in Tibet.
|5||TABO TO CHANDRATAL LAKE: (100 Kms, 6-7 Hrs)|| One of the most magical days will take place today. Pack up the luggage and embark towards Chandratal Lake.
Chandratal Lake: The Lake is situated at the height of 4300 Meters above the sea level. It is also known as the Moon Lake as it is in crescent shape. The Ranges around the Lake are called Moulkila and Chandrabhaga. Star gazing from the Lake is breathtaking.
By the evening reach Chandratal Lake and set up camps in the midst of overwhelming landscapes.
|6||CHANDRATAL TO MANALI: (150 Kms, 7-8 Hrs)||In the morning travel back to Manali enroute crossing over Kunzum Pass and Rohtang pass which are providing beautiful views.|
